This is Mr.Bird's take on the traditional Mexican sugar skulls or calavera. These have been used for centuries to honor and commemorate the departed.
Instead of sugar our calaveras are made of solid safflower seed and sunflower hearts then hand decorated with delectable fruit and other edibles. The birds eat them all!
